О фильме:
По мотивам классических произведений Гилберта Кийта Честертона. Патер Браун - католический священник, в силу тех или иных обстоятельств оказывающийся в русле расследований преступлений. Он как бы подчеркнуто противопоставлен гордым, важным, сильным - то и дело что-нибудь роняет, ползает по полу, все время ищет свой зонтик. Он всюду как бы незаметен, как бы отсутствует присутствуя. У патера Брауна нет внешнего действия - несколько мимолетных взглядов, малозначащих реплик - и преступление раскрыто. При этом его меньше всего заботит, последует ли за раскрытием преступления арест преступника. Патер Браун ведет борьбу не с преступниками, а со злом, следствием которого становятся преступления...
