A useful overview of Russian and Soviet era painting
There are some 130--150 illustrations with about 25 in colour
There is a helpful 10 page introduction then the full page. colour plates then the B&W illustrations-- the B&W illustrations range from 1-2 per page on the whole- there are B&W versions of the colour plates as well. The quality of the four and B&W illustrations are good by 1977 standards and still good
